Basis of the edition

The present edition is based on the photographs available at the Mainzer Photoarchiv of the Hethitologie Portal Mainz, as well as the available hand-copies and relevant secondary literature up to 2019. When the original manuscripts have been collated, this is noted in the commentary.

Commentary

Previous editions: Wilhelm forthcoming.

This cult inventory treats various towns, which were probably in the nearby of Šarišša. Thus, this text demonstrates that the reports on the local cults flowed not only towards Ḫattuša, but also towards provincial capitals like Šarišša (from which they could be forwarded to Ḫattuša if need be).

The text treats several deities, mostly represented by ḫuwaši-stones, listing their cult images, festivals, and offerings.

For a detailed commentary see Wilhelm forthcoming.
